State of Louisiana Urges Shoppers to Pay Internet Sales Taxes

Summary


During the busiest retail shopping time of the year, the Louisiana Department of Revenue is reminding shoppers that online purchases from out-of-state retailers should be reported so it can be taxed by the state.

In most states, including Louisiana, retailers are only required to collect sales tax if it has a physical presence in that state, such as a store or warehouse.
