New Orleans native Mark Drago is determined to stay in the city despite Hurricane Katrina, which filled his Slidell home with 4 feet of floodwater and displaced most of his Gentilly sno-ball stand's customers.
I figured the odds were in my favor somewhat because I didn't get flood damage here, said Drago, 33, who owns The Original New Orleans Snowballs and Smoothee on Elysian Fields Road next to Brother Martin High School. So I'm gonna make a go of it. I can't see giving up on the city, much less the clientele, because of some bad times. I look at it like I'm starting over again.
