Winnings at New Orleans' four casinos posted their second straight 6 percent month-over-month decrease in September, dropping 6 percent to $48.1 million compared with $51.2 million in August.

But year-over-year winnings at Boomtown, Treasure Chest, Harrah's New Orleans and the Fair Grounds slots facility were up 11.5 percent compared with $43.2 million in September 2008, according to Louisiana State Police figures.
