New Orleans-area realtors unfazed by down market

Summary


A 33 percent drop in home prices over four months coupled with a nagging foreclosure rate has been an obstacle for Realtors in eastern St. Tammany Parish for several months.

But agents say business is holding steady, and slightly improving in some cases, thanks in part to a lessening of worries about the economy and a federal program offering an $8,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers.
