Gulf Oil Production Shows Little Improvement

Summary


Oil production still remains largely shut in nearly a week after Hurricane Rita swept through the Gulf of Mexico.

Today's shut-in oil production is 1.47 million barrels of oil per day, or about 97.8 percent of the Gulf's daily production of 1.5 million BOPD, according to the Minerals Management Service. That figure is only a small improvement over yesterday's 98.5 percent shut in figure.
