Oil production still remains largely shut in nearly a week after Hurricane Rita swept through the Gulf of Mexico.
Today's shut-in oil production is 1.47 million barrels of oil per day, or about 97.8 percent of the Gulf's daily production of 1.5 million BOPD, according to the Minerals Management Service.
