Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will deliver the keynote address at the 2006 commencement for Xavier University of Louisiana at 3 p.m. Aug. 12. The event has been moved to the New Orleans Arena from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to accommodate the largest graduating class in Xavier's 80-year history.

Obama will address more than 600 graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School and receive an honorary degree.
