Summary


The Louisiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects wants state and federal officials to use sound community design principles in temporary and permanent rebuilding plans after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

We recognize that temporary housing must be provided quickly but we encourage officials to make sure this housing provides privacy; open space; easy access via roads or public transportation to retail, worship and entertainment facilities; and adequate parking, said Lynn Robertson, AIA Louisiana executive director.
